Place 001
The Hall
of Frames
The first place where the Traveler realizes that seeing is not the same as looking.
Walk farther into the HallThe living question
What am I looking through?
The Hall does not remove the frames. It reveals that they exist.
Choose a pane. Look again.
Somewhere farther down the Hall, the silence has changed.
Someone is already here
The Child with the Glass
The Child never lectures. They hold a single piece of blue glass toward the world, toward the Traveler, and sometimes toward nothing at all.
“Have you ever looked at the window instead of through it?”
A folded note rests behind one frame.
Cartographer’s Field Note
I have returned to the Hall of Frames many times over the years.
Curiously, I have never found two Travelers standing before the same frame.
The Hall judges none of them. It has all the time in the world.
The Lantern speaks once
“The clearest glass is often the hardest to notice.”
Do not solve the Hall. Carry the question back with you.
Beyond the Hall, something smells faintly of rain and tea.
